• 1. Background and Purpose: The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) on behalf of UNEP invites qualified interested firms to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in the upcoming competitive bidding exercise to establish a Long Term Agreement for the safeguarding, repackaging, loading, stowage and domestic and international transport of PCB contaminated equipment and oils from multiple locations within the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region to designated disposal facilities.An internal process is currently ongoing to confirm the final disposal location(s) from among identified facilities. The treatment or destruction of the waste at the disposal facilities is not part of this scope and will be managed under a separate arrangement.This Expression of Interest (EOI) is issued solely for the purpose of identifying entities that meet minimum eligibility and capability conditions to be invited to participate in a subsequent solicitation process. 2. Indicative Scope of Services (Summary Only):The envisaged scope of services includes:• Safeguarding and repackaging of PCB contaminated equipment and oils• Draining of transformers and preparation of equipment for transport• Labelling, weighing, inventory updates and waste acceptance documentation• Loading, stowage and securing of waste into transport vehicles and shipping containers• Domestic transport and international shipment by road and/or sea• Basel Convention notification and trans boundary ...
