Description:
Expression of Interest are invited for Study on Telecommunications Sector Reform and Advancing Universal Broadband Access in Botswana. This assignment is to evaluate the current telecommunications market and regulatory landscape in Botswana, and propose clear and robust recommendations to address the current constraints to reaching universal access to the internet in the country, including recommendations for long term sustainability of the Government-funded fiber network deployment and for encouraging greater private sector participation and competition in the market. The report will include a broad analysis of supply-side and demand-side aspects of the telecommunications sector, as well as an evaluation of the regulatory environment in relation to achieving universal access. This will include a comparison with other markets in the region and globally. Data gathering for this will require both a mix of a review of existing reports and research, as well as proprietary research including consultations with stakeholders in both the public and private sector.
