EXPRESSIONS of INTEREST (EoI):

The Botswana Power Corporation (BPC), as the National Power utility of the Republic of Botswana is currently operating 600 MW (4 X 150MW) Morupule B Power Station. The station is located about 270 km North East of the capital city, Gaborone at a place called Palapye in the Central District. Morupule B Power Station (4 x 150MW) is coal fired power plant that uses Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustion (CFBC) technology.

The plant uses an ultra-high pressure CFB boiler manufactured under the cooperation between WUXI Huaguang Boiler Co., Ltd. and German LENT JES Company. The first unit was commissioned in 2012 and the fourth unit was commissioned during the last quarter of 2013. The power plant uses limestone (CaCO3) to trap sulphur dioxide gas and therefore reducing the SOx emission into the atmosphere and in order to meet the World Bank and national Air Pollution Emission Standards.
